Catch Up Soup...

As I have assured you before my blog posts will consistently run behind! So I have a lot of catching up to do!

The first thing I want to start with is "Adventures on Daddy-Daughter Day!" So Lucky Byron gets to watch Lela every Monday while I am off slaving away! :) (I am a little jealous if you can't tell) But anyway...the mommy in me feels like I need to have everything ready for him to go the next day to make it easier on everyone! So I put some Ravioli aside and told him that it would make a quick and easy lunch...

But I forgot to tell him that I always rinse the sauce off the ravioli before I give it to the baby! :) OOPS!

He was a little upset with the mess that I had caused by forgetting this very important piece of information! But hey...these are the moments that make life worth living! And I LOVED getting this picture sent to me at work on a Monday afternoon!

Second thing I need to cover...is that my baby girl turned 1 year old just over a week ago! I can't believe how much time has flown by! I feel like only yesterday I was ready for my due date to hurry up! We made it through the every two hour feedings and the hundreds of dollars worth of formula! Somehow...we turned out to be pretty good parents! :)
And Lela loved the Frank (duck) cake that we got her! She had her own personal cake and she dove right on in!!! I will try to upload and share some more pictures later!

I am going to try to do a better job of keeping everyone up to date on the life and times of Lela Maydean, but I can't make any promises! :)

October

There are few certainties in life. One thing that you can be certain of is that my blog will always run behind! :) Try as much as I want and have the best intentions in the world, but there is just never enough time to get to everything. However, that does mean that you can gather lots of information in one easy read! (Bright Side!) :)

The first big thing in October was the Race for the Cure! With a very well put together outfit, thanks to Aunt Susan and Grammy Pam, Lela was the star of the show!

The tutu was a gift from Aunt Susan who always buys us the cutest outfits! The shirt and hat were handmade by Grammy Pam! She loved watching the people and we had a great time! Seeing that little smile lights up my whole world!

Second big event in October was that our baby turned 9 months old!

At 9 months Lela is crawling and pulling up. Favorite words are still dada and nene! She has learned out to throw a temper tantrum and will bury her face in the carpet if you take away something she wanted to play with. She likes mac and cheese, chicken noodle, and all veggie baby foods. She loves puffs and veggie sticks! We had to bribe her with a veggie stick to even get her still enough to take this picture! She just got her first flu shot and got tubes put in her ears. She is happy all the time! She CAN sleep through the night, but most of the time chooses not too! She has some separation issues at night time! She is the most beautiful wonderful gift of my life! I love this little girl like my life depends on it!

The third and final event in October was HALLOWEEN! Our very FIRST HALLOWEEN! Lela was a flower and it was PRECIOUS!

She was not sure what to think about the costume at first but it grew on her! We went around and saw her Nene and Annie (two of her most favorite people in the world), her Pappy, and her Mammy! Everyone gave the baby some candy (except pappy he gave her baby food! :) ) Since Lela doesn't have teeth for candy just yet, it looks like me and daddy have our work cut out for us!

I absolutely love seeing these two together! I loved Byron very much before Lela was born, but every time I see them together my love for him and the daddy he has become is more than I can bear! This is the perfect family that I always dreamed of :)! And I am thankful for every minute of it!

The Miracle of Life

This is the last picture that was ever taken of my big ole pregnant belly. I was 37 weeks pregnant and this was 11 days before we were scheduled to be induced. She did not wait 11 days! I woke my husband, Byron, up at 2:30am and told him it was time to go! Lela Maydean Lewis made her appearance on January 25, 2012 at 11:41 am. She weighed 7lbs 11oz and was 19inches long. She was the most beautiful miracle of life that I have ever seen!

It is amazing to see how this little miracle of life has grown. These are her monthly pictures. I have 2 months, 3 months, 5 months, 6 months, 7 months, and 8 months. At 2 months she was so small. She just laid there and let me take her picture. At 8 months she was eating her sticker and not letting me take her picture! This has been an amazing journey to watch my baby grow. I know that it is going by amazingly fast, but I am enjoying every second of it.

I am creating this blog to better remember every stage of her life and to keep any friends and family that are interested updated with what is happening in our life. This first post is just meant to catch up with where we are right now.

Lela is now 8 months old and not too far from 9 months. She is crawling, pulling up, and babbles non stop. Favorite words are Dada and Nene. She loves bottles and most vegetables! Getting her to eat fruits are a challenge! She loves to chew on the baby veggie sticks. It is a fight to get her dressed or change her diaper because she never stops moving!

I have realized that life is short, and I want to make sure we remember every moment of it!
